NO Postcard Photos
Outing Description:
Most of us have been here. Let’s revisit with a fresh look through our lens. The challenge is to capture images that most people don’t ever see, even if they are looking right at it. It’s June, it can be hot and busy at Ft. Pickens so we will go in the early hours when the lighting is ideal. The sun rises at 5:48am. Let’s meet at the Pavilion next to the Ferry station (near the fort entrance) at 5:30am to catch the sunrise. Let me know if you’d like a later meet. We’ll start at the pier for sunrise, go into the fort, then choose other locations.
Date & Time:
Sunday, June 25 at 5:30am. Plan on staying 2-3 hours but you can leave as early or late as you’d like.
Where (meet up?):
Meet at the pavilion by the ferry pier. Arrange for carpooling on your own if desired.
Cost: National Park entry fee or Pass if you have one. Purchase at the Entrance.
Equipment:
Musts: camera, lens (macro, extension tubes, tele & wide…all size will be good), memory cards, extra batteries. Know your camera and how to adjust your ISO, aperture, and shutter speed easily.
Optional: Tripod
What else to bring:
Food/Drink:
Bring water and a sack snack if you’d like. There are no restaurants at Ft. Pickens.
Attire:
Dress appropriate for weather. Sunscreen/hats/bug repellent. We’ll be walking on paved pathways and sandy areas.
