Butterfly House and Railroad Museum, Milton FL
Outing Description: First, we’ll visit the Panhandle Butterfly House and Nature Center. For more information visit Panhandle Butterfly House & Nature Center. Since it moved from Navarre, there is now a renovated historical home that serves as its office and gift shop. The new vivarium is much larger and is home to over 160 native butterfly species, with an additional 200 species migrating annually.
Next, we’ll go practically across the street to tour the West FLorida Railroad Museum. We’ll have access to the frieght area, waiting rooms, railroad cars and more. the L&NRR was chartered in 1850 so there’s lots of history.
Difficulty Level: EASY
Date & Time :Meet at Butterfly House at 10AM. Meet at Railroad Museum around 11:30AM.
Where (meet up?): First, the Butterfly House 4966 Henry Street Milton, FL 32570, then the RR Museum around 11:30 – 5003 Henry Street, Milton, FL
Cost: $7 Butterfly House, RR Museum is FREE
Equipment: Musts – camera, lens (macro if you have it), memory cards, extra batteries. Know your camera and how to adjust your ISO, aperture and shutter speed easily.
Optional – tripod for slow shutter speed shooting, remote shutter release or know how to use 2-second delay if your camera has the option.
Food/Drink: Let’s plan on having a lunch get together at Boomerang Pizza, 5227 Willing St., in downton Milton.
