POP Contest Entries

Madelyn Carr Bonnett is an Alabama native and a resident of Columbiana. She has been a serious amateur photographer for 35+ years. Retired from her marketing communications career, she now makes available prints and canvases, photo books, wall calendars, note cards and other photo arts items featuring her photographs. A life-long lover of God’s natural world, she seeks to share the truth through her photos that He is the Creator of the earth and all its natural beauty. Her primary subjects are botanicals, forests, Alabama and U.S. national parks and other natural wonders, but she literally sees a picture in everything. She shoots exclusively with natural light and often uses intentional camera movement (ICM) and post-processing techniques to achieve abstract/artistic effects. Since 2005 Madelyn has won local, state, regional, national and international awards for her images. Since 2019 her solo exhibit, “…buy Hyacinths to feed thy Soul,” has toured central Alabama with stops in eight cities. It comprises a colorful, eclectic collection of images in several series grouped by subject, scene or style. She is a member of Shelby County Arts Council, Shelby County Camera Club and the Montgomery Art Guild.
